The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center, in collaboration with Lusail University, organized a special academic event on April 24, 2025, where Lusail University hosted H.E. Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia, during his official visit to the State of Qatar.
Dr. Tangara delivered a high-level lecture titled:
“International Politics Amid Regional Developments: Challenges and Opportunities.”
The lecture was held at the Lusail University campus in the city of Lusail and witnessed a large attendance of university students, faculty members, and individuals interested in political and international affairs. During his address, H.E. Dr. Tangara discussed the major political transformations shaping the world and their implications on inter-state relations, particularly in conflict zones. He also emphasized the rising role of multilateral diplomacy and the importance of promoting dialogue and understanding amid successive global crises.
The lecture also highlighted the importance of engaging youth in public affairs through higher education institutions and empowering their intellectual and critical thinking skills to better understand the dynamics of international politics—especially in a time marked by economic crises, regional conflicts, and developmental and governance challenges.
This event was a joint effort by the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center and Lusail University, reaffirming the importance of integrating academic and practical knowledge, and promoting legal and political awareness among university students—aligned with the shared goals of advancing transparency, justice, and the rule of law.
At the conclusion of the event, H.E. Dr. Mamadou Tangara expressed his deep appreciation for the warm welcome he received and his admiration for the academic level and evident interest of Lusail University students in global affairs. He also thanked Lusail University and the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center for the opportunity to exchange ideas with a distinguished group of Qatari youth.
For their part, university and center officials expressed their pride in hosting such a prominent diplomatic figure as Dr. Tangara, noting that such engagements enrich the educational experience, foster intercultural dialogue, and contribute to shaping a well-informed generation capable of interacting with global challenges with awareness and responsibility.
